Biography

Ira is a cinematographer that is working in the great states of Louisiana & Texas He obtained his Master's in Fine Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University emphasizing in the fields of cinematography and digital media. After graduation, he started his own independent production company called Film Epic Productions. Ira's main focus is to eventually build FEP into a large studio production house to shoot feature independent films. He currently offers his services as a freelance professional. Writing - Ira is trained in writing in script format under WGA authors Joe R. Lansdale and Jack Heifner. He utilizes professional script writing software Final Draft Pro and Celtx.
Shot Breakdown - Ira is able to take a script and break it down according specific shots. He then places those shots into a document for scheduling purposes.
Budgetting - Ira can give a very accurate budget for your project by calculating elements such as required film equipment, employment, food, and art directional props necessary for a professional finished product.
Scheduling - Ira has experience of coordinating actor's schedules, props, equipment, and various external factors to give you an itinerary for shooting in a cost efficient manner.

Directing - Ira was trained in film acting under General Hospital soap star, Brad Maule. During his graduate years Ira assisted Brad in his acting for camera class by filming and interacting with students to help them understand not only the difference between film and stage acting, but also on how to excel within their craft.
Camera - Ira has shot with various amounts of HD & SD cameras during his seven years of experience. He has worked with various Panasonic, Sony, Canon, Nikon, and Red cameras to create gorgeous cinematography.
Lighting - Ira's knowledge in lighting is a quality that he takes great pride in. Ira has worked with broads, frenels, and kinoflos. Depending on the project, Ira is able to light with very little light and not sacrifice the quality of picture. His style is to light and shape off as if a sculpture removing clay from his subjects.
Sound Mixing - Ira has experience with operating zoom and marantz recording mixers. He utilizes various types of microphones depending on what a scene will require and external elements such as room acoustics or ambient noises.

Editing - Ira first started his career into cinematography by his interest in editing. He has edited numerous films on Apple Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, and Avid Media Composer. Ira knows the ins and outs about video format, sound editing, effects editing, and dvd authorizing. He also has a passion for coloring by working in Apple Color and Adobe After Effects.
